NUUK (GREENLAND) (ITALPRESS) – U.S. Vice President JD Vance has landed in Greenland at the U.S. Pituffik Air Base. Upon his arrival, the Guardian reported, Vance was greeted by the base’s military personnel with whom he joked before going to lunch noting that “to be honest, it’s pretty cold here.” Vance reiterated the Trump administration’s interest in Greenland and the security of the Arctic region.
“As you’ve heard, we have some interest in Greenland from the Trump administration, so we’re going to talk a little bit about it with our friends in the media,” vance explained, adding that “the president is really interested in the security of the Arctic. As you all know, it’s a big issue, and it’s going to get even bigger in the coming decades.” Vance further explained that with National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, “they’re going to talk to the command about exactly what the base does and all the ways we can contribute to national security.”
Also included in the delegation accompanying Vance are Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, and U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
