Yesterday was a difficult day for the Holy Father, who presented with “two episodes of acute respiratory failure, caused by significant accumulation of endobronchial mucus and consequent bronchospasm. Therefore, two bronchoscopies were performed with the need for aspiration of copious secretions. Non-invasive mechanical ventilation was resumed in the afternoon.”
