Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez at Trump “We work together for peace and dialogue”

CARACAS (ITALPRESS) – The interim president of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez, in his first message after the capture of Nicolas Maduro, said that his country is committed to peace and gives priority to achieving “balanced and respectful” relations with the United States, according to international media.

Rodriguez invites the US government to “cooperate with us on a cooperation program” under international law. “ Venezuela has the right to peace, development, sovereignty and a future,” he adds.

LE PAROLE DI TAJANI

“We believe that the use of military interventions is not suitable for solving issues. But at the same time, the American intervention is legitimate, given the threat they saw and I believe that this will also emerge during the trial in Maduro, given also the super witness that will be presented or the former head of the Venezuelan intelligence services. Narcotraffic is a tool not only of economic interest, but also a tool for attacking other countries. So from this point of view, to protect your own security, the intervention becomes legitimate.” Thus the Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, guest of RTL 102.5. “Now we have to work for a democratic transition and so that the Venezuelan people can live a new season of democracy, freedom and respect for the rule of law – he added – In these years there have been very few people who have denounced strongly and are strongly committed to contest the crimes committed by the dictatorship of Maduro. Today for Venezuela is a moment of freedom. Without Maduro, Venezuela certainly more free.” According to the vice-premier, “I see that the Italian one in Venezuela is one of the largest communities of international compatriots, we must work to ensure that we are guaranteed the safety of our compatriots, but also for the liberation of Italian political prisoners and to release Alberto Trentini who is the last of the arrested Italians.”.

“I spoke until last night with our ambassador to Caracas and we are working for this. We are trying everything possible and impossible and we hope that with Mrs Rodriguez it is easier to dialogue to bring home a person who did not commit any crime. Just like the other Italians held for political reasons and not because they are dangerous criminals.” This is the answer to a question about the possible effects of the crisis in Venezuela on the liberation of the Italian co-operator Alberto Trentini and other Italians held in the South American country.
