CARACAS (VENEZUELA) (ITALPRESS) – Eighty political prisoners were released in Venezuela, under an amnesty granted to 379 people. President Jorge Rodriguez declared this. Amnesty was promised by the interim government after the capture of Nicolas Maduro by the United States.
In total, 1,557 political prisoners in Venezuela have applied for amnesty according to the new law. Rodriguez explained that “the law concerns 11 thousand people who, through the Venezuelan judicial system, have received alternative measures to detention. That is to say, they were previously imprisoned, but now they are subject to the obligation to sign or to house arrest.”.
