Venice opens the doors of its universities for the national day promoted by Crui and Anci

VENICE (ITALPRESS) – Venice and its universities are the protagonists of the second edition of ‘Universities Unveiled,’ the national day established by the Conference of Italian University Rectors (Crui) under the patronage of the Ministry of University and Research and this year in collaboration with Anci, the National Association of Italian Municipalities.

The initiative was illustrated this morning at Ca’ Farsetti, during a press conference attended by University Councillor Paola Mar, Ca’ Foscari Venezia University Rector Tiziana Lippiello, Iuav University Rector Benno Albrecht, “Benedetto Marcello” Conservatory of Music Director Roberto Gottipavero and Academy of Fine Arts Director Riccardo Caldura. This year’s nationwide focus is on university cities as privileged places of synergistic interaction with territories. Universities Unveiled 2025 therefore relaunches the commitment of universities and municipalities with many initiatives throughout Italy.

“The theme of the National Universities Day traces the path of dialogue that Venice has been following for years now with the city’s Universities and Institutes of Higher Education in Art, Music and Dance (Afam),” highlights Councillor Mar. “I recall the Study in Venice agreement and the Venice City Campus protocol, formal acts of that path that sees us committed to affirming the deep bond that binds the city to the universities, which are increasingly able to attract students, and teachers and staff from all over the world, but also to ensure a competitive educational offer in an extraordinary context that is our city, for its history and its artistic and architectural heritage. A dialogue that is reflected in numerous collaborative activities and opportunities for the young people who choose our city to study and who are lucky enough to experience it, often finding in Venice the chance of a job opportunity and thus being able to build their future in our city.”

An all-round relationship, the alderman confirmed, “that involves the City Council but also the city system made up of the investee companies, the Museums and the Foundations,” added Mar. “The participation of the university community in the celebrations of Venice 1600 and Marco Polo 700, the collaboration with the city of Venice for the setting up of the Venice Pavilion on the occasion of the Architecture Biennale and the initiatives that will be carried out at the Italian Pavilion in Osaka on the occasion of Expo2025, are evidence of the proactive relationship that sees us involved on several levels that constantly intersect: Venice is the University and the University is Venice,” the councilor said, recalling also the commitment on social issues with the opening last February 18 of the two new anti-violence desks in the Ca’ Foscari and Iuav venues.
