Verona strike at “Dall’Ara,” Bologna beaten 3-2

BOLOGNA (ITALPRESS) – Verona’s feat, beating Bologna 3-2 at the end of a match in which practically everything happened. Castro’s own goal two minutes from the end was decisive, Zanetti’s team responds to Como and Parma and climbs to 18 points. Bologna remains at 28 and cashes its third defeat of the season.
The one at the “Dall’Ara” was a match with a thousand faces. Italiano sent out the usual 4-2-3-1 with Dominguez on the right and Castro the only central reference, the guests responded with Suslov on the three-quarter to support the Sarr-Tengstedt duo. After an initial study phase, the Felsinians began to build play; Castro tamed a cross from his header, then the same Dominguez, from the edge, beat Montipò with a low shot to the first post. The hosts took advantage of the moment, Pobega failing to deflect a Fabbian bank into the goal. The best chance came to Odgaard: the Dane was stopped only by the post. Three minutes later, at 38′, Sarr evened the score by taking advantage of a very serious mistake by Lucumì. Again Dominguez, among the best on the field in the first half, tried a conclusion from the distance in the midst of the recovery, but the ball ended just wide. But the slap in the face for the Rossoblù came at the expiration: Bradaric’s first-intention throw took out the home defense, Serdar found Tengstedt who alone in front of Skorupski managed to sign the overtaking goal.
The reaction in the second half by Bologna was immediate – Odgaard’s shot intercepted by Montipò -, but at 6′ Pobega was sent off for a rant on Duda: the Var confirmed Ayroldi’s choice, but the images did not clarify the dynamics of the episode. Nervousness was inevitable, but Italiano’s team found the equalizer at 13′ when again Dominguez repeated in the net Odgaard’s free kick that ended at the post. Despite the numerical inferiority, the Felsinei tried hard to find the overtaking goal, but Montipò intercepted no less than three direct shots towards the goal mirror. At 43′ Verona took the lead again, Castro’s deflection into his own goal on the development of a free kick from the right lane being decisive.
