Visibilia, Santanchè changes lawyers. Preliminary hearing may slip

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Change in the defense of Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè and possible postponement of the preliminary hearing scheduled for tomorrow in Milan.

Gov. Meloni, who has been charged with aggravated fraud against the Inps for alleged irregularities in the use of the Covid layoff fund for some Visibilia employees, replaced lawyer Salvatore Sanzo with Salvatore Pino, who will flank Nicolò Pelanda.

The new counsel, availing himself of the right to terms of defense, will ask for time to examine the documents, making it likely that the session before gup Tiziana Gueli will be postponed.

The hearing was supposed to lead to a decision on the indictment or acquittal of the minister, but the possible postponement could further lengthen the proceedings. In addition, Judge Gueli will change assignments on March 31: it will be up to the president of the Milan court to decide whether to keep her on the case or assign it to a new magistrate, with the risk of starting all over again.
