CAGLIARI (ITALPRESS) – After the bitter disappointment in the Champions League, Juventus got back on track in the league and did so by beating Cagliari 1-0 at the Unipol Domus. Animated by a huge desire for redemption, Thiago Motta’s boys played with determination and, at times, quality. The match was decided by Vlahovic, preferred to Kolo Muani and back as a starter almost two months after the last time. A weekend, then, more than favorable for Juve, now firmly fourth, thanks also to the simultaneous defeats of Fiorentina and Milan and the draw of Lazio. For the Bianconeri, the game is already downhill after just twelve minutes of the first half. Mina was surprised by Adopo’s back pass and was naively anticipated by Vlahovic: the Serbian flew towards the goal, dribbled past Caprile and deposited the 1-0 ball into the net. Juve does not stop and takes advantage of an inaccurate Cagliari still stunned by the disadvantage suffered. The Sardinian formation struggled to get past the half and was kept afloat by Caprile’s saves. At 22′ the former Napoli goalkeeper denied Yildiz a goal, covering the exit goal mirror: at 29′ Caprile also parried with his foot the next attempt by the Turkish fantasist. Juve still dangerous at 35′, when Conceicao in front of goal fails to intercept McKennie’s assist. A harmless left-footed finish by Zortea, however, was Cagliari’s only ringing in the first half. In the second half, the hosts’ pace increased, thanks in part to the entry from the bench of a buoyant Luvumbo. A now more tired Juve conceded the ball of the game to the opponents and then acted on the counterattack. In 78′ Vlahovic launched into the net was denied a one-two by Caprile’s exit: the Serbian, unbalanced at the moment of the shot by Luperto, protested strongly to referee Colombo. The guests manage, however, to concede few limpid chances to the Sardinians, whose best chance is Coman’s shot at 83′ just high. In the recovery Yildiz and Mbangula came close to doubling the score. Juve thus won its fourth consecutive victory in Serie A: Cagliari, on the other hand, lost again at home and remained pinned in 15th place.- Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
