Volvo Trucks, 5 stars Euro NCAP for regional truck distribution

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Volvo Trucks continues to excel in the Euro NCAP security ratings with a new test that assigns the maximum result of five stars to the Volvo FM. Seven Volvo truck models received a five-star rating from Euro NCAP, confirming Volvo’s focus on uncompromising safety. The latest Euro NCAP safety assessment is based on a test in which the organization focused on trucks in a segment they called “Regional Distribution” and Volvo participated with the Volvo FM model with 4×2 carriage configuration. Once again, Volvo has achieved the maximum 5 star Euro NCAP rating for safety performance. These are the Volvo truck models that so far have got 5 stars in the Euro NCAP rating: Volvo FM 4×2 tractor, Volvo FM 4×2 chariot, Volvo FM 6×2 chariot, Volvo FH 4×2 tractor, Volvo FH 6×2 chariot, Volvo FH Aero 4×2 tractor, Volvo FH Aero 6×2 wagon. “Once again, we have seen a clear proof that Volvo maintains its commitment: security remains at the centre of everything we do,” says Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks. “We will continue to push innovation to stay cutting edge in safety and to protect drivers, as well as all other road users.” All Volvo truck models evaluated by Euro NCAP have not only achieved the maximum safety score, but also meet the so-called Euro NCAP City Safe criteria, thanks to both excellent visibility and high performance of Volvo active safety systems, designed to protect pedestrians and cyclists in urban traffic situations. Volvo was the first truck manufacturer to get a maximum of 5 stars when Euro NCAP launched its first heavy vehicle safety rating in 2024. A 5-star rating from Euro NCAP means that the truck meets or exceeds criteria such as driver support and collision avoidance, offering road safety to the driver and users of the surrounding road. Volvo Trucks’ vision of a zero-accident future is the company’s guiding principle in its commitment to continuously improve vehicle and traffic safety, and the company will continue to develop security systems that not only offer protection, but also can predict risks and reduce accidents.
