Volvo Trucks Italy continues partnership with Four Sustainable Logistics

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Volvo Trucks and operator Four Sustainable Logistics’ strategic partnership for new Zero Emission transportation solutions continues.

Operator Four Sustainable Logistics takes another step forward in sustainable mobility and logistics with the expansion of its fleet of electric trucks. The total number of zero-emission vehicles in Four’s network reaches 40, with the arrival of three new Volvo Trucks vehicles, a significant milestone in the Italian and European freight transport landscape.

Two Volvo FHE 4X2 electric tractors with Globetrotter Classic front cab, electric powertrain, and 540 kWh of rated power provided by Volvo’s “cubic” batteries and both 43kW AC and DC charging options up to 250kW. Four is also the first customer to experience the new “Volvo Bundle” charging service package and use the Elinta Charge AC 43kW charging station, the service, monitoring and analysis reporting provided by Fleet220. A Volvo FEE 6X2 electric wagon, equipped with four battery packs approximately 264 kWh, outfitted with Lamberet crate and Carrier Syberia refrigeration unit for a city transport mission.

With the support of RBS (Rental Business Solution), a division of the Volvo Group that specializes in offering long-term rental for Volvo vehicles, this transaction is part of a strategic partnership between Volvo Trucks Italy and Four Sustainable Logistics, companies that share a strong commitment to the energy transition to Zero Emission transport. By adopting innovative and high-performance solutions, Four Sustainable Logistics confirms its role as a pioneer in sustainable logistics, contributing concretely to the decarbonization of the sector.

“The meeting with Four Sustainable Logistics was a few years ago, and it has come a long way since then. The vision on the evolution of heavy transport has always been the same and the strength, to this day, is to be able to combine different and complementary skills. A true teamwork that has also involved different actors in the search for the right and most comprehensive solution. Since our meeting with the CEOs of the two companies, the foundations have been strengthened to give continuity to the different projects,” said Sabrina Loner, eMob Product Homologation Director of Volvo Trucks Italy.

“This investment testifies to our approach to a market increasingly oriented toward environmentally friendly transportation solutions,” said Francesco Carrozzini, Four Sustainable Logistics development manager. “Our commitment is to design, together with customers, services that are also economically sustainable: a result possible thanks to a shared medium- and long-term vision, which integrates the increase of the charging autonomy of vehicles, the training of highly qualified drivers, the use of software for route optimization and planning, and the increasingly widespread diffusion of charging infrastructures suitable for these vehicles.”
Carrozzini also announced future investments: “We are planning to purchase five more electric trucks by the end of 2025, in collaboration with leading customers, replicating the characteristics of the vehicles we collect today. Added to the purchases already planned by partners, the Four network will reach the threshold of 50 electric trucks by the end of the year.”

The partnership between Volvo Trucks and Four is confirmed as a winning one, and it also extends to nonprofit initiatives, such as participation in SOS LOGistica: the sustainable logistics association in which Volvo Trucks has been a partner since last October. Founded 20 years ago, SOS LOGistica promotes and disseminates best practices in logistics sustainability, supporting members and industry players in integrating sustainability as a strategic and competitive lever and actively contributing to the sustainable transformation of logistics processes.
