Vonn “Today another intervention, the road is still long”

TREVISO (ITALPRESS) – Lindsey Vonn will be subjected tomorrow to a new operation, the fourth from the fall in the Olympic descent of Cortina last Sunday. She’s the same 41-year-old American who let her know in a video posted on her social media. “Here in the hospital were pretty tough days – says Vonn, admitted to the Treviso Ca’Foncello – I finally feel more myself, but I still have a very long road ahead. I’ll have another surgery tomorrow, and I hope it’s okay, then maybe I could leave the hospital and go home, where I’ll need another surgery. So I still don’t know exactly what it’s gonna do, but more or less the situation is this right now. I’m here in the hospital, really bad, but I have so many friends and family coming to see me. And, as I said, the letters, the tickets, the flowers I received were gestures of a huge kindness.”.

The Vonn, the day after the fall, had known that he had reported a complex fracture of the tibia of the left leg “which at the moment is stable, but which will require several surgical interventions to be properly settled”. On Wednesday, the American champion, who had chosen to take part in the descent despite the break of the crusade before the left knee repaired at the end of January at Crans Montana, had provided an additional update by talking about a “third operation” carried out.
