ROME (ITALPRESS) – “It was a result that I did not expect because this preparation was done a bit more hastily than the last competitions, I am very satisfied more than anything else for all these last years that have been difficult.” This was said by the Italian weightlifter, Lucrezia Magistris, during an interview at the Rome office of Italpress. The 25-year-old from Pavia, daughter of father Cesare, won a bronze medal at the World Weightlifting Championships in Manama, Bahrain, lifting 99kg in the snatch. “In competitions I was not able to fully express my potential, it was a great satisfaction,” the Italian continued, “At the women’s level the -59kg category is complex and very competitive, I am very happy. At the last Olympics in Paris, Magistris finished 11th and now looks ahead, the goal is the Los Angeles 2028 Games: “The main goal is to qualify and improve my weights as far as technical exercises are concerned while as far as the category is concerned I will have to evaluate because now they will change and I will have to make a decision.” Finally, a message to the new generations who are entering this discipline for the first time: “This is a complex and very difficult sport because it brings you to confront yourself, it is an individual sport but it makes you grow a lot psychologically.
