TURIN (ITALPRESS) – Good first for the new Igor Tudor-branded Juventus. The Bianconeri team defeated Patrick Vieira’s Genoa 1-0 in the match of the 30th day of Serie A played at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Yildiz scored the (splendid) goal that decided the challenge and inaugurated the new course of the Lady.
The change on the bench with the arrival of the Croatian coach in place of Thiago Motta also brought with it a new tactical look for Juventus with the switch from 4-2-3-1 to 3-4-2-1. And the Bianconeri team has also regained the support of its home crowd after the heavy protestations of previous matches. Genoa, for its part, which took the field in a fourth yellow-blue jersey celebrating the upcoming 120th anniversary of Boca Juniors founded by five Genovese, had at the start given up Malinovskyi.
After an initial phase of pressure, in which Juventus had never managed to create dangerous chances and Genoa had found on a couple of occasions a conclusion from the distance with Frendrup (without, however, creating great difficulties for the Bianconeri goalkeeper Di Gregorio), the home team took the lead.
On 25′, from a quick throw-in that had Tudor among the protagonists, the ball went to Vlahovic who, after a fortunate rebound on Vazquez, served Yildiz who was good at getting away at speed, skipping past De Winter with a dribble and beating Leali with a powerful right-footed diagonal shot. Genoa very close to equalizing at 10′ of the second half, when from an outside-right assist by Sabelli it was Pinamonti who kicked just wide on a volley.
A few rare spikes on either side in the final stages of the match, a low shot by Weah in the recovery parried on the ground in two times by Leali, at the end of a match that on the whole gave great intensity but few emotions and little work for the two goalkeepers.
The success thus allowed Juventus to regain the fans’ smiles and return to moving up the standings after a two-game fast, thus staying in Bologna’s slipstream in the race for fourth place. For Genoa, on the other hand, a defeat interrupted the positive series of the Rossoblù, who had managed to win seven points in the last three days.
