ROME (ITALPRESS) – “This seems to me to be anything but a defeat. The Court has been very clear. Not only does it not reject Calderoli’s law, but for as many as 25 times it finds the remarks unfounded and for another 13 inadmissible. The Constitutional Court says that we should not talk about subjects but about specific functions. I see a constructive input, an aid to the legislature. The judges identify the words to be changed and also propose corrections.”
Thus, in an interview with la Repubblica, Veneto Governor Luca Zaia, after the Consulta’s ruling on the differezied autonomy law. “For years I have argued that the path we must take together, in the interest of all,” explains Zaia, for whom inequalities “it is centralism that created them,” so “autonomy is constitutional and it is not forbidden to work. Unless for someone work is also unconstitutional.” As for the referendum, “I see it as hard that the preconditions will endure.” On the League’s position on autonomy, the governor says, “The League is for autonomy and brings this reform as a dowry to Italy. It only does good for the country, and the proof is that the majority of regions have asked to participate in the project. Two-speed Italy exists, by necessity there is a Northern issue and a Southern issue. They are like Siamese twins, we must necessarily travel together,” Zaia concluded.
