Zanetti (Confitarma) “The fisco puts at risk the marine occupation”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The recent position of the Italian Revenue Agency is likely to produce heavy repercussions on the occupation of Italian seafarers” so the President of Confitarma Mario Zanetti, in reference to the answer n.10 of 2026 with which the Agency questioned the consolidated application criteria adopted so far in the matter of taxation of income perceived by Italian seafarers boarded on foreign flag ships.

“For this reason Confitarma is already actively engaged in all the competent institutional offices so that a coherent, certain and in line with the previous positions expressed by the Agency itself is quickly reestablished,” said Zanetti. The pronunciation, which denies what was previously argued on the same subject by the Agency itself, questions the method of calculation of the time threshold provided for by law, 183 days within 12 months, to the achievement of which the Irpef exemption, in the presence – entirely physiological – of a plurality of non-consecutive funnels and often on horseback of two solar years. The position of the Revenue Agency thus opens an unexpected scenario of strong interpretative uncertainty, which risks compromising behaviors so far adopted in full coherence with the previous indications provided by the Agency itself and jeopardizing the employment of Italian marine workers”.
