LONDON (ITALPRESS) – “During our talks we discussed the challenges facing Ukraine and the whole of Europe, coordination with partners, concrete measures to strengthen Ukraine’s position, and ending the war with a just peace, along with solid security guarantees.
A statement of principle of support from the Prime Minister and an important decision: today, in our presence, Ukraine and the UK signed a loan agreement. This loan will strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities and will be repaid using revenues from frozen Russian assets. The funds will be earmarked for arms production in Ukraine. This is true justice: those who started the war must be the ones who pay.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote this on X at the end of his meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. “I thank the people and government of the United Kingdom for their enormous support since the beginning of this war. We are happy to have such strategic partners and share the same vision of what a secure future for all should look like,” Zelensky concluded.
