ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council with delegation to the South, Luigi Sbarra, presided this morning at the Chigiana Library of Palazzo Chigi, the meeting of the Cabina di regia ZES.
At the heart of the meeting, the update of the Strategic Plan of ZES Unica, following the extension of the perimeter to the regions Umbria and Marche, and the communication of the results so far achieved.
In the course of the work, Sbarra expressed “satisfaction for the fruitful work of coordination between the different institutional levels, emphasizing the significant impetus impressed by ZES Unica to the economic development of the Mezzogiorno”.
“In today’s Cabin – the Undersecretary declares – we have taken note of results that largely exceed expectations. If in the two-year period 2022-2023, with the preceding eight regional ZES-based arrangement, the authorizations were counted in the order of a few hundred, over the last two years more than one thousand authorizations were issued, with an increase of more than 250 percent. We talk about 6 billion euros of authorized investments and more than 17,800 estimated employment relapses.”
To administrative simplification, ZES Unica supports a solid tax incentive tool through tax credit. Over the past two years, more than 17,300 applications have been received to the Revenue Agency, supported by an allocation of 6,1 billion to support more 12,4 billion investments.
“The ZES Unica Mezzogiorno – says Undersecretary Sbarra – confirms an effective model and a pillar of South industrial policy. The Stability Act ensures important appropriations to give continuity and support to investments. The allocation of 4 billion for the next three years goes in the direction of ensuring structured investment planning. The extension of the perimeter to the Marche and Umbria regions, the only regions in transition previously excluded from the measure, required the application extension of the Strategic Plan”.
“Important – concludes Sbarra – that the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, indicate the ZES as a model to look for future measures to be introduced at national level in order to ensure administrative simplification.”.
