Nissan presents the new 100% electric Juke

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Nissan unveils the new 100% electric Juke at the Vision event, held at headquarters in Japan, marking an important step forward in its electrification strategy in Europe. Nissan, a 15-year leadership in the EV sector, meets a wide range of customer needs, in a competitive market environment where the region’s electric vehicles continue to grow. Agile, compact and unmistakably Nissan, JUKE electric, the first of its history, brings personality and emotion into the era of electric vehicles, reinventing one of Europe’s most distinctive compact crossovers. Nissan Juke is part of Nissan’s broadest strategy to offer an electrified powertrain for all mobility needs. Since its launch in 2010, Juke has won 1.5 million customers in Europe, redesigning the compact crossover segment with bold and unconventional design. The new JUKE maintains this character by introducing a fully electric motor to support Nissan’s path towards zero-emission mobility. Electric Juke fits into Nissan’s zero-emission range in Europe, which includes the new Micra, the third generation of Leaf, the Ariya crossover, the Townstar commercial vehicle and the new segment A model. The new Juke, like Leaf, has Vehicle-to-Grid technology to support the integration of electric vehicles into the energy ecosystem. “Europe is fundamental for Nissan’s electrification strategy and we remain firmly committed to a fully electric future,” said Massimiliano Messina, President Nissan AMIEO. “With a rapidly expanding range of electric vehicles, we are offering an increasingly wide and innovative choice in each segment, strong of our solid presence in terms of design, engineering and production. This new generation of vehicles will accelerate our transition to zero-emission mobility. “The new electric Juke will be produced at the Nissan factory in Sunderland, UK, strengthening the site’s central role in the company’s global strategy in electric vehicles. Already the production site of Leaf, with the start of the first phase of production of JUKE in the coming weeks, the plant of Sunderland remains the pillar of Nissan’s production presence in the field of electrification in Europe. This commitment is supported by Nissan’s largest regional capabilities, including its design, engineering and development network in the UK, Spain and Germany. As a whole, these activities underline Nissan’s long-term commitment to Europe as a productive and innovation hub: designing, engineering and producing vehicles in Europe, for European customers. “JUKE has always distinguished itself for bold design and will to challenge conventions. With the third generation, we bring this spirit into the electric age,” said Clìodhna Lyons, Region Vice President, Product, Brand & Marketing Strategy, Nissan AMIEO. “The first electric generation of Juke will help us reach new customers while expanding our electrified range.”.
