MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Training, enterprises and new generations in the same place, to build together the skills required by manufacturing. It is with this objective that Saturday, September 12 SMARTT VAlley inaugurates the new Education Area in the headquarters of Via Roma 57 in Daverio (Varese).
The opening will be celebrated with an institutional event, in the presence of representatives of national and territorial institutions, the productive world and training, together with the realities that have contributed to the development of the initiative. The new area was created to reduce the distance between training and work, directly involving companies in the construction of routes and creating opportunities where young people can confront real professionals and needs of industry.
The first IFTS built with the territory. The first concrete application of this model will start at the end of September with the IFTS path in Mechatronics Management, co-designed with ITS Lombardia Meccatronica Academy and with the involvement of the local production fabric.
In recent months the comparison with companies has allowed to define content and professional profiles starting from the needs emerged directly from the labour market. Openjobmetis has joined the project in the selection of boys and in matching with the realities involved. IFTS in Management Mechatronics is the first of a series of post-diploma routes that will already be expanded with new proposals, both annual IFTS and biennial ITS. Startup Garage Next to the training courses will be born the “Startup Garage”, aimed at girls and boys between 15 and 25 years who want to develop and test an entrepreneurial idea.
The project comes to Daverio through an active collaboration with SUPSI – Professional University School of Italian Switzerland, where the model has been operating for years. The participants, the so-called skippers, will work on their ideas together with other boys and mentors, in a context that enhances experimentation, comparison and ability to question a project.
An idea can start still uncertain, change shape and grow thanks to the contribution of others. The “Startup Garage” was created to create a space in which to try, wrong, correct and evolve an intuition to make it more solid.
“Today many companies struggle to find ready figures to really get into work, because often training remains too far from the company reality. What you learn must be able to compare with what happens every day in the company, so the boys arrive more prepared and the enterprises can help build the skills they will need,” says Gabriele Caragnano, President of Fondazione Ergo. This is the logic that holds Education and Innovation together in SMARTT VAlley. Training develops within an environment that evolves together with industry, while what is born of innovation can enter paths and become concrete experience for those who are forming.
The goal is to create a real continuity between what is learned and the context in which those knowledge will then be used, by bringing together in the same ecosystem the growth of people and the transformation of manufacturing. Born from the vision and experience of Fondazione Ergo, SMARTT VAlley develops this model in Daverio with a strong rooting in the Varesino territory and an ambition that looks beyond the local borders. The opening of the Education Area is a new stage of a journey started in 2024 and will continue until the completion of the project by the end of 2027.
The requalification of the former factory is supported by Bando Progetti Emblematici Maggiore 2024, with a total contribution of 3 million euros, of which 2 million made available by Fondazione Cariplo and 1 million from Regione Lombardia.
In the morning the tape is cut, the visit to the Education Area and the presentation of the development path of SMARTT VAlley. At the end of the institutional interventions is expected that of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti. On the occasion of the event will be presented the unpublished photographic exhibition “What Remains” by Gigi Soldano, organized by La Focale di Buguggiate.
