TRIESTE (ITALPRESS) – The European Centre (InCE) Initiative renews its support to the Young Bled Strategic Forum (Young BSF), the event dedicated to young generations who, from 27 to 30 August 2026, gathers in Kranjska Gora and Bled, Slovenia, over one hundred young professionals, researchers and public officials from all over the InCE cooperation area.
The initiative, recognized as the CEI Flagship Event and supported through the EC Cooperation Fund, is one of the concrete pillars of the Organization’s commitment to new generations. To represent the Executive Secretariat of the EC is the Deputy Secretary-General, Zsuzsanna Király, present at the Forum’s work, witnessing the attention that the Organization reserves to direct dialogue with the young leaders of the region.
At the heart of this year’s edition there is the concept of youth agency, understood as the ability of young people to actively participate and concretely affect the choices of their time, in an international context marked by geopolitical tensions, crisis of democratic trust and rapid technological transformations.
The programme includes a busy schedule of plenary sessions, workshops and panel meetings with institutional representatives, dedicated to themes ranging from the defense of democracy in a fragmented world to online disinformation, from the future of the Euro-Atlantic order to youth participation in decision-making processes, also through concrete projects within the Erasmus+ programme.
“Young people are not the passive recipients of the future, but the protagonists of the choices that determine it. To support the Young BSF means to give concrete follow-up to the commitment made by the Member States of the European Union with the Trieste Declaration of 2019″, said Kiraly during his speech.
“The future of our societies depends largely on the perspective of young citizens, who deserve particular attention and protection. The participation of the ENP in the forum confirms the Organization’s willingness to listen directly to the new generations and to integrate their requests into the future CEI Youth Agenda,” he added.
The young people and the initiatives dedicated to them represent a priority shared by all the Member States of the EC. In recent years the Organization has stepped up monitoring and development of activities aimed at responding to the needs of new generations, a commitment that finds its political origin in the Trieste Declaration, adopted in 2019 by the Foreign Ministers of the EU, with which the Member States have instructed the Executive Secretariat to develop, together with the member countries, a formal “CEI Youth Agenda”, currently being defined.
This choice is part of a broader political objective: strengthening cooperation between the EU and the United Nations through a closer link with Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
In the framework of this path, the InCE has built over the years a network of concrete partnerships for young people: the support and co-financing of the Young Bled Strategic Forum, designated CEI Flagship Event for the central role played in the geopolitical and youth strategies of the region; a consolidated partnership with UNICEF, with which the InCE has already co-organised two regional workshops on its own programme.
Through this set of initiatives, the ENP pursues the goal of improving the quality of life of young people in the region, investing on their education, on equal opportunities, on their participation in decision-making and on the skills needed to address the challenges of the 21st century.
