LUBIANA (SLOVENIA) (ITALPRESS) – La Nave Scuola Palinuro – the famous and prestigious Italian Navy sailor – will arrive in Slovenian waters tomorrow in the field of education 2026 and will be moored at the port of Capodistria from 7 to 9 October 2026.
Launched in the shipyards of Nantes in 1934 and acquired by the Italian Navy in 1950 as a school ship, for more than 70 years Nave Palinuro has sailed “with the favor of the winds” (as stated his motto, “Faventibus Ventis”) fulfilling an important role in the activities of the sub-office students, who carry out on it several weeks of navigation characterized by an intense specific training program. Nave Palinuro is a recognized traveling symbol of our country and its maritime vocation, and plays a appreciated role of naval diplomacy.
In this context the next stop of the majestic sailing boat in the port of Capodistria comes as an additional and welcome signal of the intensity of the solid relationships of friendship and collaboration that bind Italy and Slovenia.
During the stay in port the crew of Nave Palinuro, led by Commander Francesco Carriero, will be engaged in a series of institutional and protocol activities, including the visit of the Ambassador of Italy in Slovenia, Giuseppe Cavagna, of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Republic of Slovenia Anze Rodem and the Consul General of Italy in Capodistria, Simona Ciuffoni.
