Martin dominance in Australia, pole and then sprint win

PHILLIP ISLAND (AUSTRALIA) (ITALPRESS) – Jorge Martin (Ducati Prima Pramac) absolute protagonist on Saturday in Phillip Island. The Spaniard first takes pole position and then wins the Sprint Race of the Australian Grand Prix, highlighting a monstrous race pace. Martin hits his seventh pole of the season with a time of 1’27″296, earning the right to shoot ahead of everyone in tomorrow’s race as well. Flanked on the front row by Marc Marquez (Ducati Gresini, +0″594) and Maverick Vinales (Aprilia, +0″695) and with Pecco Bagnaia slightly delayed – fifth time for the two-time world champion, slower by 1″182) -, Martin dominates the sprint finishing ahead of Marquez himself, second despite a bad start. The podium is completed by Enea Bastianini (Ducati), only fourth Bagnaia who in the rainbow standings now slips to -16 from the Pramac Spaniard. Instead, Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Pertamina) closes fifth. In order, Franco Morbidelli, Raul Fernandez, Aleix Espargaro, Augusto Fernandez and Luca Marini complete the top ten. With two laps to go, Vinales and Bezzecchi had a bad fall. Due to the strong wind, the Italian crashed into Vinales on braking, causing both to fall. Also out were Acosta, Miller, Zarco and Alex Marquez.
