PISA (ITALPRESS) – The National Congress of Rescuers Specialized in Natural and Civil Disasters, Between Technologies, Risk Forecasting and Improved Intervention, organized by Sismax, closed in Pisa. Among the speeches was one by Riccardo Castro, president of Seus 118, who emphasized, “We addressed issues related to maxi-emergencies related to the future of risk in Italy. As Seus we look with interest at this reality of Sismax, at what is the integrative module to the maxi-emergency that is proposed, and at the same time we presented our Sicilian operational model, which was very much appreciated by a large representation of experts at the national level. There was a large autonomous participation of the Seus driver-rescuers, and for me it was a great pride to enhance the work that is done daily on the Sicilian territory.” Also present were the heads of the 118 operations centers of Caltanissetta-Enna-Agrigento and Messina, Giuseppe Misuraca and Fabio Parducci, respectively, as well as physicians, nurses and Seus rescue drivers. Alessio Lubrani, national president of Sismax and director of the 112 Nue (Single Emergency Number) in Tuscany stressed, “In Pisa we gathered hundreds of health professionals from all over Italy. Here they practiced how to put into practice the best response to a maxi-emergency event, which is not only a catastrophe, but also a small upheaval capable of putting the local health sector in crisis. We have to improve, as a system, the way we deal with these extraordinary situations so that the response to the citizen is always more effective.” (ITALPRESS).
