We know that on the Lebanese side there has been an adherence to this proposal, now I think an effort must be made by Israel.” Thus Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in an interview with Tg4 yesterday during her visit to Lebanon. “I think the killing of Sinwar, a symbol of the attacks on Israel last Oct. 7, objectively can offer a window to try to build a new history. I also think that we need to intensify our efforts to try to free the Israeli hostages and that this can be another element to arrive at a cease-fire. In the absence of tools that tell a de-escalation, an escalation is at risk,” he added.
