Filed Grillo looks to the future of M5S

ROME (ITALPRESS) – The 5 Star Movement archives Beppe Grillo’s season forever. After repeating the vote on changes to the statute, as had been requested by the founder and guarantor himself, an even larger majority than in the first vote confirmed the choice to abolish his role with 80.56 percent of votes in favor, compared to 63.24 percent in the first vote at the Nova National Assembly. Grillo’s call to defect from the vote, so that the quorum of 50 percent plus one of eligible voters would be lacking, was de facto disregarded by the Pentastasi community and, indeed, participation was higher than in the previous round of polling. In fact, 58,029 members voted for the questions related to amendments to the bylaws, or 64.90 percent of those eligible, some 4,000 more members. Also confirmed were the other repeat statutory votes.
“This,” Conte commented on social media, “is the disruptive wave of a Community that knows no limits or obstacles, in which everyone really counts. Now we turn the page. The Movement is being refounded on the indications that came with Nova from the members. We move forward with great strength, with pride in what we have done, but our eyes fixed on the future. We have immense passion and many battles to do all together to change the country.” The M5S president then gave a 4 p.m. appointment this afternoon to members for a live social broadcast, for new communications and to answer their questions. For his part, Grillo commented on social overnight, “In case I don’t see you again, good afternoon, good evening and good night.” The phrase, as well as the accompanying photo in which “the Elevated One” is depicted in the sky, at the top of some stairs, with his arms outstretched and a door wide open behind him, harkens back to the movie “The Truman Show.” Now the path of legal dispute over the symbol and that of a split remains open, a hypothesis, however, that Conte said he feels to deny.
