LECCE (ITALPRESS) – Udinese beat Lecce 1-0 in the match at the Via del Mare that opens the 26th day of Serie A: a goal by Lorenzo Lucca on a penalty kick decides. The visiting team starts off strong right away with Lucca himself who, after receiving the ball from Lovric, kicks powerfully towards the goal finding the prompt response of Falcone. Initially, the match does not give particular excitement in the first minutes of the game, which are rather broken up. At 26′ comes the first real chance on goal for the Salentini with a shot by Pierotti that, accomplice the deflection of Kristensen, becomes very insidious for Sava who however manages to take refuge in the corner. At 32′ Udinese wins a penalty kick for an elbowing by Jean against Lovric: Bonacina, after a Var review, indicates the penalty spot. Lorenzo Lucca argued with his teammates to take the penalty and, after also being cautioned, came from the eleven meters, clearing Falcone for the 1-0 Bianconeri lead. A few minutes later Kosta Runjaic decides to replace the striker, sending in Iker Bravo: a change that smacks of a penalty. At the end of the first half Lecce tried to push in search of an equalizer, but at the end of three minutes of recovery time they went to rest on the 0-1 scoreline. In the second half, coach Marco Giampaolo tries to shake up his team with a double change, inserting Berisha and Karlsson, but the Friulans are still the ones to make themselves dangerous: great solo action by Bravo at 53′, who forces Falcone to an excellent intervention to foil the threat. The Giallorossi poured into the opponent’s half en masse, going after Krstovic with several crosses, but without getting more than a long series of corner kicks. In the final, the two teams stretched a lot, with the hosts trying to grab 1-1 and the guests, on the other hand, going close to doubling the score. The four minutes of recovery did not change the outcome of the challenge: Udinese went through 1-0. By virtue of this result, Runjaic’s team consolidates tenth place by moving up to 36 points, while Lecce remains fifteenth at 25.
