On March 15, at 9:00 PM, New York will host one of the most original voices in modern blues: Davide Pannozzo. The Italian guitarist, long appreciated in the United States and Europe, will perform at The Bitter End, a historic New York club in the Village, bringing his blend of blues, funk, and jazz to the stage.
Davide Pannozzo is not just any guitarist. His career is built on impeccable technique and an emotional approach that has won over an international audience. Influenced by the greats of the past such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Robben Ford, the artist has managed to evolve his musical language, infusing blues with new sounds, while always maintaining a connection to the genre’s roots. Over the years, he has collaborated with some of the most prominent names in the global music scene, such as Will Lee, Clifford Carter, and George Benson, establishing himself as one of the most respected guitarists of his generation.
For this evening, Pannozzo will be joined by two prominent figures in the music scene: Etienne Stadwijk, an American keyboardist very active in the funk and jazz world, and already a member of the groups Brooklyn Funk Essentials and Mamossa, and drummer Shawn Pelton, one of the most important and acclaimed drummers in the world, with collaborations including Elton John, David Byrne, Ray Charles, and Tears for Fears, among others. Both are known for their ability to move between refined grooves and eclectic improvisation.
This is not Davide Pannozzo’s first time at The Bitter End. The guitarist performed there in 2018 with Tomo Fujita, and again in 2024, with Will Lee, Clin De Ganon, and Oz Noy. The Bitter End is one of the oldest and most important venues in New York. It is here that some of the most important musicians in history started their careers: from Sinatra to Duke Ellington, from Bob Dylan to Stevie Wonder; it’s an environment that breathes history and has witnessed the birth and growth of the city’s sound.
