RIMINI (ITALPRESS) – “We are increasingly convinced that road safety can be further strengthened starting from the bottom, from our young children and, in particular, from those who are still children today.” Starting from this consideration the president of the Automobile Club of Italy, Geronimo LaRussia, to illustrate the presence of the institution at the Meeting of Rimini, scheduled from 21 to 26 August.
ACI, in fact, in Romagna will propose a wide space dedicated to education and mobility. “In this sense – adds the president of the ACI – we renew our maximum commitment to collaborate with the ministries of Interior, Education and Transport, with the primary objective of making our children ambassadors of road safety through initiatives that find space especially at school.”.
Among the main elements of the stand of the ACI, the project ‘Ready2Go’, an educational method developed by the Automobile Club of Italy with the schools present throughout the national territory, for the formation of young drivers. Integrates traditional teaching with state-of-the-art simulators, theoretical modules and practical activities to recognize and manage risk before it becomes emergency. Last year the initiative involved more than 40,000 children. In addition to ‘Ready2Go’, ACI presents a 360° immersive viewer dedicated to road education, especially for the pupils of the last years of elementary school and the first of the lower average. Children will be able to experience real urban situations, learning the importance of attention, respect for signs and visual contact with drivers.
ACI, last year, organized road education courses in schools, in agreement with the Ministry of Education and other institutions, involving 389 institutes, 778 classes and 16.125 students.
A special space will also be dedicated to the inclusive “Sim Racing”. Thanks to a specially engineered clone steering wheel and ergonomic cockpit studies, Norwegian pilots and people with disabilities will compete together, with equal weapons and the same starting grid. “Sim Racing” is redefining the boundaries of motorsport. It is sport, it is technology, it is training, but it is especially inclusion. With this project we transform a principle into a concrete reality,” concludes Geronimo LaRussia.
The ACI stand will be open throughout the Meeting with demonstration activities, simulations and moments of discussion open to families, schools and fans.
