ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Italian market of the two motor wheels confirms in September 2026 a positive trend, despite an economic context characterized by new pressures on the purchasing power of families. According to the preliminary figures published by ISTAT, inflation reaches the highest level of the year in September, while consumer confidence has a new decline. “In the ninth month of the year – says Mariano Roman, president of ANCMA – scooters have already exceeded the sales volumes recorded in November 2025, supported in particular by the lowest and accessible displacements, which up to 250 cc grow by 20%. In this scenario, the mix between motorcycles and scooters is rebalanced, with the latter that strengthen their role thanks to economics, versatility and functionality, especially in urban and everyday uses. The motorcycles, even in an extremely complex economic context characterized by the dear fuels and the increase in the cost of life, maintain a positive trend thanks to the ability to embody passion and desire for freedom.”.
In September the uninterrupted series of positive partials of 2026 continues: in the ninth month of the year the market of the two motor wheels marks an increase of 7,86% and registers 33,061 vehicles. Among the registered vehicles, the scooters once again stand out for a double-digit result, with an increase of 11,21% and 20,381 units; also the motorcycles, even to a limited extent, return to grow after two months of bending: +1,64 and 11.175 means registered; good also the performance of the mopeds, which incassano an increment of 12,99% and 1,505 units.
The annual cumulation recorded an activity of 10.87 percentage points and 324.911 vehicles put on the road. It can now be considered consolidated the growth of scooters that mark a +15.11% and 192.668 units; more contained the trend of the motorcycle, which however grow of 4,71% on the same period last year and plate 120,364 means; also remarkable the result of the mopeds, which incassano a +10,55% and 11,879 units.
Among the best results of the year is the partial of zero-emission vehicles, which, in September, have an increase of 48.04% and 1,208 units. The annual cumulation also grew by a quarter of its market compared to 2025 (+24.66%) and recorded 8.524 units.
The quadricycle sector seems to have overcome the difficulties that marked the first part of 2026: the increase in September (+47.52%) is the most marked of the year and leads to street 1.875 means. The total market that makes a +0.08% and 13.244 units return to parity.
