Aprilia Racing Packs The Most Evolved and High-Performance RSV4 Ever

NOALE (VENICE) (ITALPRESS) – Aprilia Racing, the most successful European racing department in the history of MotoGP with 298 GPs won, has always had among its noblest missions the development of technologies in top-level competitions, to be then made available to the wider public of motorcycle enthusiasts. From the active electronics of motorcycle management to the art of making superfine chassis, via the aerodynamic solutions that revolutionized the very concept of racing motorcycles, all the technical choices that have made Aprilia famous were developed in the Racing Department of the 54 world titles. This is another reason why owning and riding an Aprilia has always been a hallmark of the most advanced and competent motorcyclists. Aprilia Racing continues its mission of sharing the highest technologies by introducing the RSV4 X ex3ma, the most sophisticated RSV4 ever produced. It is the fourth act of a unique project that began in 2019 with RSV4 X and then Tuono X, continued in 2022 with the more advanced RSV4 X Thirty. Truly unique models, distinguished by that “X” that represents the maximum in terms of technology and performance that can currently be aspired to on a motorcycle for sale to the public. “This bike is the most extreme evolution of the program that we began precisely with the aim of transferring the most advanced technology to our customers, directly from our racing department. The transfer of technology from racing to users is mentioned very often, but in no case is it as concrete as in Aprilia Racing. Our engineers have created something that is much more than an evolution of the extraordinary RSV4 project. You can clearly see it in the aerodynamics, with content that is that of a real MotoGP bike. The ex3ma is the first bike for sale equipped with a complete ground effect generation package that increases lateral load by three times over the previous X: the stepped fairing and cornering wings are contents that Aprilia brought first to MotoGP. The front wing is a true MotoGP wing, 550 mm wide, and generates five times more load than the previous version, the X Thirty, which already had more than the street version, allowing for great acceleration. Even ‘under the skin’ there are major evolutions, starting with the legendary APX racing ECU that has been substantially evolved to give users performance and ease of use. So many components, visible and otherwise, are new or have been optimized to ensure ultra-low weight. It is definitely the bike on the market that more than any other can allow the customer to experience the riding sensations of a modern MotoGP bike,” comments Romano Albesiano, Technical Director of Aprilia Racing.Aprilia Racing was the first to take aerodynamic studies to extremes in MotoGP, understanding their importance and introducing innovative solutions that have made the Aprilia RS-GP prototype the most evolved bike on the grid in this respect. The Aprilia RSV4 X ex3ma represents a concrete point of contact with MotoGP, being the first and only bike in the world intended for sale to the public, equipped with ground effect aerodynamics, an extremely sophisticated technology, entirely developed in Aprilia Racing, patented and, until now, used only on the RS-GP 24 that competes in MotoGP.The special shaping of the fairing on the sides allows the air pressure between the ground and the fairing to be exploited when the bike is in the cornering phase to increase grip on the ground. The entire aerodynamic package, derived from MotoGP, includes the newly designed front wing, the under wing (commonly called a “spoon”) located under the swingarm and cornering wings located at the bottom of the front fender. The entire fairing is made of carbon by PAN Compositi using the same processes used for MotoGP and, compared to the already evolved X Thirty, allows for a fivefold increase in vertical air pressure load in a straight line, increasing stability and riding precision, while decreasing the tendency to wheelies and tripling that when the bike is bent, with great benefits in terms of cornering grip. The special Perla Nera livery draws on Aprilia’s history and the mythology of motorcycling sport. The RSV4 X ex3ma’s glossy black and graphic finishes are an obvious homage to one of the bikes that made the history of our sport: the RS 250 on which Max Biaggi won three consecutive world championships, from 1994 to 1996, in the 250 class. It is no coincidence that the same livery was chosen by Aprilia Racing in the recent race at Silverstone when, to celebrate 75 years of MotoGP, each manufacturer raced with the most iconic of its colors.Max Biaggi himself was the protagonist of the on-track development and final tuning of the RSV4 X ex3ma: “Participating in the development of a bike like the RSV4 X ex3ma was like being at the test sessions of a real racing prototype. Kind of like going back to preseason testing, when you lay the technical foundation for an entire season. Similarly, the commitment on the track was total, to prepare a bike that will give the lucky people who will ride it, the same sensations as a racing prototype. And in many ways this bike really is, because this is the first time that such a complete set-up has been fine-tuned for an enthusiast customer, including the many parameters introduced by MotoGP aerodynamics. I am really pleased with the work done, the bike conveys emotion just by looking at it with the Black Pearl livery that brings to life a glorious history. On the track it was an explosion of emotions, you can feel, in fast corners, the downforce of the ground effect fairing, a wonderful feeling. There will be 30 unique examples, strictly handmade by Aprilia Racing, which makes this bike even more exclusive.”
