FLORENCE (ITALPRESS) – Explosion at an Eni refinery this morning around 10 a.m. in Calenzano, near Florence. Two people lost their lives as a result of the deflagration, nine were injured, and three are missing. Train circulation was interrupted. The Calenzano exit on the A1 is closed in both directions due to fire. The roar was heard in several nearby towns. The municipalities of Campi Bisenzio and Sesto Fiorentino (on Facebook) urge citizens to close windows as a precautionary measure and reduce travel, pending indications from the authorities. The area of the incident is confined. Appropriate verifications are currently underway. Eni specified that the explosion occurred in the area of the shelters and did not affect the tanks.
