ROME (ITALPRESS) – “When we go back to the ballot, at the natural deadline or maybe sooner, we will confront the forces of the progressive area to define a clear and shared program. And this also concerns the PD.” Thus M5S President Giusepe Conte in an interview with La Repubblica, explaining that “in the meantime, the wide field as well as the fields of various measures are journalistic formulas to feed an increasingly tired debate. We are willing to collaborate with reliable progressive forces. But with a useful program to really change the country. And certainly this point will be diriment. If privileges are not broken down for a more equitable society, we will not be able to be in the game.” So allied with the Pd only under these conditions? “On the basis of a programmatic agreement. Also because we cannot water ourselves down and we cannot be crushed in a governmentist logic. It is not in our DNA. We have repeated to the PD that we are ready to cooperate goal by goal,” Conte stressed. As for Europe according to Conte, “it has lost political leadership. The new Commission is born weakened. The shift to the right is inexplicable. A shaky axis held together only by rearmament and support for the war industry.” That is why “the Pd last month made a serious mistake in associating itself with this axis. It had a golden share in its hands and squandered it,” the M5S leader concludes.
