Farewell Europe

Farewell Europe

Let’s be clear: the new battleground between politics and the judiciary is immigration. This is not merely a power struggle between the branches of the Republic but something new that must be understood through different lenses. In Italy, a portion of the left, the Catholic world, and some highly politicized magistrates aim to shape the future of migration flows with a clear vision in mind. They imagine a Europe populated by new citizens, integrated into labor markets, boosting birth rates, reshaping culture and religion. Europe is envisioned as a vast new melting pot experiment.

Thus, “welcome” becomes a concept that essentially means total acceptance. Whoever arrives should land without restriction, with the intent of ousting Salvini once and for all through the Open Arms trial or at least discrediting the government through rulings and counter-rulings, following the Albania model. The idea is that those who disembark remain, with no talk of deportations or offshore reception centers. This means that pure politics won’t provide a response, much less a solution, to one of the great issues of our time.

What will take shape is a social lobbying mix with various players but a single goal: the identity transformation of our beloved old continent, once the cradle of democracy and beauty. Farewell, romantic Blue Danube; now, the waters are filled with boats of all kinds.
