VENICE (ITALPRESS) – The Tatiana Luter actresses, now on the set with James Franco and active in environmental defense and Noemi Brando, promising face of Netflix productions, have received the Award Nations Award 2026 in the Venetian spin-off of the historic Taiwanese event that this year celebrated the Ventennale in Venice. “The two days of the Nations Award Thinkingreen lit the spotlight on the promises of the great screen, the history of journalism and environmental sustainability,” said President Michel Curatolo who opened the evening together with the godmother and ambassador of the Award, the model and international actress Madalina Ghenea. An important moment is the recognition of the 50th anniversary of the TG2 directed by Antonio Preziosi for the celebratory documentary “TG2: 50 years of news”: the Special Prize was withdrawn by the journalist of the editorship of the magazine Laura Sansavini, among the curators of the work, who bears the signature of Rai Documentari. Also celebrated the half-century masterpiece of Martin Scorsese Taxi Driver with the screening of the most significant moments of the original language film with the master interpretation of Roberto De Niro. Also known for the painter Mauro Drudi, whose exhibition was set up within the hotel and journalist Maurizio Scaglione, director of IlSicilia.
The talk on sustainability, with the patronage of the Sicilian Region, saw the participation of the Councillor of the Municipality of Venice Sebastiano Costalonga, of the director of AVA (Associazione Veneziana Albergatori) Daniele Minotto and of the ad of FS Engineering Dario Lo Bosco, who took part in the first panel on “Transport sustainable railway roads: new perspectives for national tourism as added value of the territories”, moderated by Maurizio Scaglione. The Bosco has analyzed the future of infrastructure engineering and illustrated the evolution of the company in a “global technology of digital engineering of the FS Group with over 3,400 active specialists in 15 countries. A modern tourism cannot ignore an integrated mobility. This demonstrates the new railway connection with the Marco Polo airport of Venice: eight kilometers of new line and an underground station that will connect directly the train to the terminal. The infrastructure of the future is no longer just steel and concrete, but an intelligent system in which we invest in artificial intelligence, Digital Twin and multidimensional BIM up to 8D. These technologies allow us to anticipate the criticalities, zero delays and, above all, increase safety in the yards in order to look at the goal ‘zero shifts on the job. The future is built by connecting economic growth to the protection of the landscape.”
Meaning the message you wanted to send the State Secretary to Culture Pietro Cannella: “The goal of the twenty years shows how this award is a happy meeting point between cinema, culture and society. Cinema and culture can raise public awareness towards responsible development models. The comparison between Sicily and Veneto, different territories but united by a heritage of extraordinary value, strengthens a necessary dialogue: culture must be the leverage for a new idea of development that preserves the territory for future generations”.
In the course of the debate the intervention of the Director of Foreign Trade Development and Sustainability of FS Engineering Irene Gionfriddo: “The design today must transform the presence of the rail from barrier to synapses. To do so we apply Life Cycle Assessment methodologies that demonstrate how the conversion of abandoned lines drastically reduces the environmental impact on demolition, creating new cycle directions. In addition, we use digital platforms to listen to social media so as to intercept the real tourist demand of communities.”
The panel also attended Ettore De Cesbron de la Granellais (ANAS Veneto) and Claudio Scarpa (president of Centro Studi AVA), who added: “We have long sponsored this event to compare the experiences of two great territories such as Sicily and Veneto. The topics addressed, i.e. logistics, tourism and water management, are of fundamental importance to safeguarding both regions.”
To follow, the panel dedicated to the “Energy Resource Management Model”, sponsored by the Department of Energy and Public Utility Services of the Sicilian Region, led by Francesco Colianni. The talk saw the comparison between Andrea Razzini (Director General Veritas S.p.A.), the economist Giuseppe Mongiello and the entrepreneur Sandro Bottega. The latter launched a strong warning on water waste: “The water is not inexhaustible and must be safeguarded. We Italians are among the biggest consumers in the world, even for the dispersion of networks. Our company has introduced for over 12 years a closed air-cooled circuit water recirculation system that drastically reduces consumption, saving 5 million litres of water for each distillation campaign.”
The event took place in the Music Hall of the Hotel Cà Sagredo in Venice, an ancient residence of Doge Nicolò Sagredo: “Felici of having hosted, for the fourth consecutive year, this prestigious event, on our part will always be the maximum commitment for cultural events of the highest level like this” said the director of the Carlo Palmisano structure.
