In Emilia-Romagna at the start of the regional campaign against the risks of over exposure to digital devices for children

BOLOGNA (ITALPRESS) – Request for hug, request for duet, shared game. Not all notifications come from a screen. There are those who come from the people we have next door, from the needs of girls, children and teens, from the demand for attention, listening and time shared. The most important notifications are those of real life. This is the message at the center of the new awareness campaign wanted by the Emilia-Romagna Region “Do not ignore the most important notifications”.

Equally clear are the objectives: to promote a more conscious use of digital tools, to protect smaller ones from the risks of over exposure to screens, and to rekindle attention on the quality of relationships and the role of adults. The communication campaign has nine posters, a video ad, multilingual kit with information material and advice for recreational activities distributed in regional hubs and a campaign site translated into English, French, Spanish and Arabic and containing all materials and information: from the risks of early exposure to screens to alternative activities that parents can do with their children, up to answers to the most frequently asked questions.

“Don’t ignore the most important notifications” and its multichannel broadcast plan off and online were presented today at a press conference by the welfare council member, Third sector, Child Policies and School, Isabella Conti. “An important awareness-raising project that stems from the path initiated with the General States of Childhood and Adolescence of 2025- explains Conti-, where we chose to address this issue together with families, services, scientific community, school, educators and the Third Sector. It is an argument, that of over exposure to the screens, which certainly concerns teens, smartphones and social, but which begins much earlier: in Emilia-Romagna, in fact, it already affects 11% of children under five months and 39% between 11 and 15 months. And the campaign translates well the sense of responsibility that we, as institutions, have first to parents, girls, boys, girls and children. It serves an educating community capable of questioning together on the relationship with the digital of all of us, including adults. We can’t just download responsibility for young people and we can’t leave families alone.”.

“‘The most important notifications’ is the result of a long work of genesis that today, after the first announcement of 10 June on the occasion of the General States 2026 in Rimini, officially sees the light – adds the council-. It is a campaign aimed at all families that make up our community. From here the choice of multilingualism of the country site, in addition to the activities to do with our children downloadable also in language bangla, urdu and Chinese. Because another element that distinguishes this project is the desire not to tell people what not to do, but to propose games and simple occasions to recover time to spend together. It is the same idea that we have experienced with the ‘Sunless Sundays’, which in the first year produced 269 initiatives and involved over 16 thousand people throughout the region. “In addition to the media on and offline ‘Do not ignore the most important notifications’ – Conti concludes – it also provides a central role of the Centres for Families, Consultants, Health and Education Services, and Intercultural Centres, with regard to the spread of paper materials. It is a collective work, studied and thought in every detail to carry out a project of real and shared community, which focuses on relationships.”.

The campaign will start in October from Bologna with digitotem in central station, maxi posters, digital totems and dynamic affixes on the bus sides. The campaign will then arrive in the other provincial capitals and, in the second half of October, will see also in the 56 municipalities of Emilia-Romagna with more than 15 thousand inhabitants. There are also listings on regional newspapers, weekly newspapers and web portals. The video spot of the campaign, lasting 30 seconds, will be projected, from 14 to 20 December, in six multi-sala dell’Emilia-Romagna. The commercial will also be interested by adv on YouTube and broadcast on TV stations in the region. On social media the campaign will start in September and will go on until November. 300 kits of paper materials have been printed, distributed through 161 territorial hubs of Emilia-Romagna: Centres for families, consultors and health and education services, intercultural centres, libraries and children’s and children’s spaces. Each kit contains posters, posters in the nine different graphical, folding, postcards in Italian and multilingual.
