TBILISI (GEORGIA) (ITALPRESS) – The celebrations in Georgia of the 11 Week of Italian Cuisine were inaugurated on 3 October, with a special event, a real festival, full of emotions and passion for Italian cuisine, recognized as a World Heritage Site. The opening event of the Week, organized by the Italian Embassy in Tbilisi and realized in collaboration with What About Georgia, was dedicated to the cuisine of Puglia, which is characterized by its rich gastronomic traditions and for simple and genuine recipes. According to a note from the Embassy were two days “full of aromas, flavors and traditions” Apulian. On October 3rd and 4th, during the busy festival of the Georgian capital, Tbilisoba, one of the squares of the historic center of Tbilisi turned into a place to celebrate Apulian cuisine and fully enjoy the delicacies of the Italian region famous for its culinary traditions.
“For years now, the Italian Embassy organizes various events in the promotional project of the Italian Regions. This year it was decided to celebrate the Week of Italian Cuisine in the name of the cuisine of Puglia, renowned for the long and rich gastronomic tradition and the high quality of ingredients. Region, where every dish reflects the territory and its roots”, – explained the Italian Ambassador Massimiliano D’Antuono – “The cuisine, which through the flavors narrates stories of peoples, territories and traditions, is the bridge of dialogue and meeting between different cultures”. The event offered the many guests a real showcase of Italian gastronomic excellence and a unique opportunity to attend the masterclass of cuisine and the cooking show curated by Ottavio Giulio Surico, famous Italian chef and owner of the Osteria del Borgo Antico di Gioia del Colle.
