An Italian citizen is among the victims of a deadly terrorist attack that struck the city of Jaffa, Israel. Eight civilians were killed and dozens injured when two gunmen, members of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, opened fire at a light rail stop near Jerusalem Street in Tel Aviv. The attackers targeted passengers and pedestrians, unleashing chaos before they were neutralized by Israeli forces.
Victims of the Attack Among the victims were Ionas Karussis, Inbar Segev-Vigder, Ilia Nozadze, Nadia Sokolenko, Shahar Goldman, Revital Bronstein, and Victor Shimshon Green, a 33-year-old Italian citizen. Green, originally from Milan, was staying at the Gagon shelter in Jaffa at the time of the attack. His death was confirmed by the Italian embassy in Tel Aviv in coordination with Interpol and Israeli police following thorough identification procedures.
A Nation in Shock In addition to the eight fatalities, sixteen others were injured, with several in critical condition. Security footage released by Israeli media captured the terrifying moments as the two attackers, armed with a rifle and a knife, launched their assault before being subdued. One terrorist was shot by a passerby, 30-year-old Lev Kreitman, a survivor of the Nova Festival massacre, while the other was apprehended by Israeli security forces.
Attackers and Responsibility The attackers, identified as Muhammad Khalef Saher Rajab and Hassan Muhammad Hassan Tamimi, both in their twenties and from Hebron in the West Bank, were claimed by Hamas as members of the group. The incident, one of the deadliest in recent years, comes just a week before the anniversary of the October 7 massacre. Israeli authorities have vowed to tighten security across sensitive areas following the attack, while Green’s family in Italy has been notified by the appropriate officials.
