ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Italy renews and strengthens its presence on the South American market by participating in FIT – Feria Internacional de Turismo, the main tourist event in Latin America (Buenos Aires, 26 – 29 September). The Italian mission in Buenos Aires is based on particularly solid economic foundations, highlighted by the latest analysis of the Enit Study Office on data Bank of Italy, Enac and ForwardKeys. In 2025 there were approximately 5.9 million overnight stays for a total expenditure that reached 536.4 million euros (+3.4%). Numbers that place Argentina in second place between the countries of origin of the whole South American continent, representing alone 21.4% of the total of passengers in the area with 381 thousand air arrivals.
The Italian Tourism Minister Gianmarco Mazzi, in view of FIT – Feria Internacional de Turismo de América Latina, said: “Argentina and Italy are united by deep roots, family ties and a history that lives through millions of italo-discendents. In 2025 more than 448 thousand Argentine visitors stayed in Italy, growing almost 4% compared to 2024, thanks above all to the train of cultural tourism, but also spiritual and seaside tourism. But our country’s relationship with Argentina has a value that goes beyond numbers. For many travellers, Italy is not only a destination: it is the place of its roots, family history and an identity to be rediscovered. The FIT represents a precious opportunity for us to strengthen this relationship and to tell Italy that embraces its children.”.
