Italy Under 21 beats 6-2 Poland and flies to Europeans

PESCARA (ITALPRESS) – Italy Under-21 flies to Europe 2027. The boys of Silvio Baldini put a heavy 6-2 to Poland, unbeaten and with two goals suffered throughout the qualifying course, and they center direct access to the continental festival in Albania and Serbia, scheduled from June 16 to July 3, and that will also award three passes (finalists and third ranked) for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028. The blues needed a success with two goals of discard on the eleven of Brzeczek to avoid being tangled in the ranking of the best second ones or – in the worst case – in the playoffs. Match dominated by Italy, which puts down the practice in the first time with Koleosho (16′) and Ndour (26′) and drops a poker in the second fraction with an extraordinary goal always of Ndour, who signs the 3-0 kicking from before the midfield, surprising the Polish goalkeeper Lubik. The fourth and fifth goals mark them Lipani (59′) and Fini (66′), while the goals of Mikolajewski (65′) and Zewlakow (85′) are useless for Poland. The 6-2 final is Cherubini, which marks the first goal in Under 21. Italy is then added to Portugal, first ranked Girone B, France, first in Girone C, England, first in Girone D, Norway, first in Girone G, and Croatia, first in Girone H, in the lot of teams already qualified to Europeans. Poland – at the qualified time as the best second – will have to wait for the results of Greece and Finland, engaged tomorrow with Northern Ireland and Kosovo respectively.

Italy enters well into the field and takes advantage first with Ndour and then with Liberals, always finding the answer of an excellent Lubik. It continues the forcing of the blues, which unlock it at the 16′: combination between Ahanor and Liberals, the fantasist of Como kicks and finds the rejection of the Polish rearguard, but Koleosho is the best of all in coming on the second ball and beating Lubin for the 1-0. Baldini’s boys don’t give up the grip and double to 26′ with Ndour, who blows head on cross from the right of Liberals for the 2-0. The rhythms are lowered, but Poland continues to struggle physically. In the Liberali fraction final, it goes close to the 3-0 hitting the pole with a dirt left in a rigor area. In the second half, music doesn’t change and Italy goes hunting for the tris, which comes with an authentic magic of Ndour. On the development of corner football for Poland the purple midfielder collects the ball between its area and the midfield and invents a clamorous goal from over 70 meters, surprising a too advanced Lubik. Poland in prolonged break and at 59′ here is the 4-0: Koleosho imbuca for Lipani, who by left beats Lubik for blue poker.

Italy descends in intensity and Poland shortens the distances to 65′, with the goal of Mikolajewski at the invitation of Drachal, but the boys of Baldini immediately hit and after less than a lancette turn still fly to +4 with the left hand of the sub-enter Fini, which puts in 5-1 to 66′. In the final Poland tries to reconnect with Zewlakow (85′), but Italy responds immediately with the first goal in Under of Cherubini (86′) for the 6-2 final.

“These are special boys and deserve these satisfactions. They did two weeks from great professionals, without saving fatigue. After the game won at the last second was a sign of destiny. We must thank the stars that have been on our side.” So, Rai Sport’s microphones, Silvio Baldini. “I told my boys yesterday that here in Pescara there is magic, the audience has transmitted us great energy. I give victory to my players,” adds Baldini.
