ROME (ITALPRESS) – Teresa Calandra, president of the National Federation of Orders of Technical, Rehabilitation and Preventive Health Professions (Fno Tsrm and Pstrp), sent a letter to the government this morning expressing “deep concern” about recent rumors regarding the Budget Law 2025.In press reports in recent hours, explains a note from the Federation, “reference is made to a government amendment that would introduce, in Article 63 of the 2025 financial maneuver, paragraph 2-bis. This provision would guarantee a substitute tax on personal income and regional and municipal surtaxes for overtime work, equal to 5 percent, only to nurses, effectively excluding all other health professionals. “If this measure were confirmed,” says Calandra, who represents 18 health professions and 160,000 health professionals, “it would constitute yet another injustice to those who, with dedication and sacrifice, work within the National Health Service (NHS). They, like others, face stressful shifts and numerous overtime hours due to chronic staff shortages. Despite constant talk of multidisciplinarity and interprofessionalism in the system, we are witnessing an unjustified exclusion from economic recognition for a great many professionals who share responsibility and commitment in ensuring public health. “According to FNO Tsrm and Pstrp, “it is, therefore, clear that the possible approval of such an amendment would result in the unacceptable creation of an incomprehensible inequity of treatment.””I trust in the institutional sensitivity of the government,” Calandra concludes, “so that the effects of this measure will be reconsidered and work to extend its scope to all health professionals, who with equal responsibility, professionalism, spirit of sacrifice and dedication contribute every day to the functioning of our NHS.
