Medicine, Bernini “No more forced university tourism out of Italy”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “On the modalities of access to the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the moment we have removed the entrance tests, passed the closed number, the first step of a historic path: enhancement of merit and the ability of the student, we prepare ourselves not to the tests but to the faculties of Medicine and Surgery, or to all health professions.” This was said by the Minister for Universities and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, during Question Time in the House. “The seventh Senate Commission has concluded its examination of the unified text on the revision of the methods of programmed access to Medicine,” she added. “It is a text that wants to guarantee all our students the opportunity to become professionals in the medical field by valuing their talents, not their luck through quizzes. Minister Bernini clarified, “We can no longer allow that because of the closed number our students are forced to do forced university tourism outside of Italy.”
