VERONA (ITALPRESS) – Exactly one year after the lighting of the Flame in Olympia, the Organizing Committee of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games unveiled today in Verona the routes of the Olympic and Paralympic Flames, for a great journey that will ignite the excitement and sporting passion of Italians as the torchbearers pass through all the territories and communities of the Peninsula that will be involved. Allianz Italia will be the Presenting Partner of the journey of the Paralympic Flame, which will be lit in England in Stoke Mandeville on February 24, 2026 and will travel 2 thousand kilometers in 11 days.
Valentina Sestan, Head of Strategic CEO projects and Head of Olympic and Paralympic Partnerships at Allianz S.p.A., commented, “As Allianz we strongly believe in the values represented by the Paralympic Flame, a symbol not only of sport but also of peace, unity, inclusiveness, respect and resilience, values that Allianz shares. With this partnership, Allianz confirms the proximity to the world of Paralympic sports initiated by our Group in 2006 at the international level and is ready to support the extraordinary moment that Sport and athletes and Para athletes from all over the world will give us at the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, of which we are a global partner.”
The Olympic and Paralympic Flame underlies a world of values related to Sport and universal messages of peace, unity, inclusiveness and resilience in which Allianz strongly believes. Values shared by the people who work in the Company, whose mission is to protect families and businesses and guarantee them a better present and future.
Indeed, the Allianz Group launched its global partnership with the International Olympic and Paralympic Movements in 2021 with an eight-year agreement until 2028, strengthening the partnership already in place since 2006 with the Paralympic Movement
International. Within this global framework, in Italy Allianz has developed important partnerships with CONI and the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP) alongside the Italy Team and the Paralympic Team. Since 2020 it has also been hosting in the Allianz Tower in Milan the offices of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Foundation, the Organizing Committee of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Since 2022, it has also been the Top Partner of the Fiamme Oro State Police Sports Group. The Paralympic Flame will be lit on Feb. 24, 2026 in the historic birthplace of Paralympic sport, Stoke Mandeville in England, and will travel 2,000 kilometers in 11 days, touching numerous stops and territories in the 5 Flame Festivals of Milan, Turin, Trento, Bolzano and Trieste. On March 3 there will be the Unifying Ceremony in Cortina. March 4, 5, and 6 are the relay days: on the 4th it starts in Cortina and arrives in Venice, on the 5th it arrives in Padua, and on the 6th it arrives in Verona.
From February 24 to March 6, 2026, the day of the Opening Ceremony of the Paralympic Games at the Arena in Verona, it will parade in the hands of 501 torchbearers. It will surely be a moment that will also increasingly ignite attention and sports passion for the Milan Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. This initiative fits perfectly into Allianz’s new global campaign “Power of Unity,” which aims to address the growing social polarization in the world and strengthen the sense of belonging and unity, promoting dialogue and respect, to foster optimism and build collective confidence in the future, including through sports.
