TURIN (ITALPRESS) – Yesterday, on the occasion of the Stellantis Table held at the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy (MIMIT), Jean-Philippe Imparato, Stellantis Chief Operating Officer for Enlarged Europe, confirmed to Minister Adolfo Urso, the Group’s continued strong commitment to Italy and its productive and social fabric. In particular, the central role of the Lancia brand, which is undergoing a new Renaissance in terms of new models, renovated exclusive showrooms and an internalization process capable of bringing the brand back to the premium market with authority, was highlighted. Among the promises made, and all of which have been kept, is the confirmation that the new Lancia Gamma will be produced, starting in 2026, at the iconic Melfi plant, one of the Group’s plants of excellence, which was chosen for its high production quality and its strategic role within the transition to electric mobility.
The production of the new Gamma in Melfi is therefore a choice that reflects Stellantis commitment to enhancing Italian production sites, promoting the excellence of Made in Italy around the world. This decision not only strengthens Lancia’s bond with its Italian roots, but also underscores the importance of investing in the territory to create innovative and cutting-edge products, acting as a driving force for the entire local and national economic fabric. Designed, engineered and developed in Italy, the new flagship will be produced from 2026 at the Melfi (Potenza) plant and embodies the Italian brand’s commitment to sustainability and high performance, celebrating the unmistakable elegance that has defined Lancia for decades. Specifically, the new model will be built on the multi-energy STLA Medium platform, which allows the integration of hybrid and electric powertrains. The decision to expand the new model’s offering with electrified powertrains is a concrete response to real market demands and makes it possible to meet any mobility need. All this translates into a predictable growth in production volumes and a consequent increase in the brand’s competitiveness on the global market.
