TURIN (ITALPRESS) – The special series of Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass is called North Star. Two unmistakably Jeep-styled versions capable of embodying the adventurous spirit, ruggedness and presence on and off the road for which the brand is universally known. North Star is not just a special series, but a commemorative edition designed to mark an important milestone: the achievement of one million units of Renegade and Compass – most of them produced in Italy at the Melfi plant – sold in Europe by the end of 20241 since their launch in this geographic area. “Jeep Renegade and Compass are essential pillars of the brand’s global success, especially in Europe, where they have enabled the Jeep brand to achieve top results. By reaching together the one million units sold mark in Europe, these two models contribute strongly to the Jeep brand’s presence in this area, where they have won hundreds of thousands of new ‘jeepers’ over the past few years,” said Eric Laforge, Jeep brand manager for the Enlarged Europe Region.
The North Star special edition is positioned within an innovative and streamlined range of models designed to meet a broad spectrum of consumer preferences with clarity and distinction. It sits strategically between the Altitude trim level, known for its simple and functional design, and the Summit, which embodies the premium upscale experience. What sets the North Star apart is its unique blend of style and refinement, offering a more elegant aesthetic and features that go beyond standard trim levels. It skillfully combines high-end elements with more functional ones, becoming a compelling choice for those seeking the right balance between rationality and a premium aesthetic.
North Star celebrates these two models by building on the elements that have made them successful. Embodying the essence of what has always distinguished Renegade and Compass, it encapsulates their distinctive features in a unique whole, an ideal synthesis of ruggedness, style and authentic Jeep spirit.
Ruggedness remains a fundamental and successful feature of the new North Star special edition. Evidence of this is the new seats made from an innovative high-strength material that provides up to three times the durability of the standard fabric used in the Altitude trim. The Compass offers both fabric and vinyl options, while the Renegade adopts interiors fully upholstered in durable, long-lasting fabric.
Styling is a prominent feature of the North Star trim, respecting the iconic and distinctive Compass and Renegade aesthetics. The design features a sophisticated two-tone color scheme. Dominating the trim is striking black, which highlights the unique details of this edition, such as alloy wheels with summer tires as well as other interior and exterior elements. In particular, the decal placed on the hood serves both an aesthetic and practical function, reducing the sun’s glare for the driver. The black is combined with a body color called Technogreen, a dark metallic green. This shade complements the black exterior elements perfectly and extends to the interior with more minimal details. For example, details in this green hue can be seen on the dashboard trim and in the fabric with contrasting stitching, benefiting the overall aesthetic harmony of the vehicle.
The 100% Jeep spirit remains a constant feature in all of the brand’s trims, regardless of their form. In the case of the North Star version, both the Compass and Renegade boast unique elements that reflect Jeep’s open-air essence. One of these is the standard dual-panel sunroof, typically finished in black to create a successful contrast with the Technogreen shade. This sunroof represents yet another element in favor of the freedom and adventure always expressed by the brand, highlighting Jeep’s desire to offer an open-air experience that enhances the desire to explore without limits. The North Star boasts a number of other distinctive features designed to enhance both style and functionality. Sleek roof rails offer additional cargo versatility, while LED fog lamps provide remarkable visibility even in challenging conditions. Black logos and dedicated badges highlight the unique identity of this special edition, complemented by tinted windows that add a touch of sophistication. Black 18″ wheels on Compass and 17″ wheels on Renegade lend a bold and dynamic appearance, further emphasized by the advanced front and rear parking sensors and the parallel and perpendicular parking assist system, which simplify maneuvering in tight spaces.
Both models in this special edition are exclusively equipped with hybrid powertrains, with no thermal engines available. Offering only the Hybrid 48V and 4xe variants – it should be recalled that Jeep Renegade 4xe is the best-selling Plug-In Hybrid B-SUV in Italy in the first nine months of the year -, the North Star series adopts the latest innovations in hybrid technology. This choice underscores the Jeep brand’s commitment to promoting environmentally sustainable mobility solutions. The absence of thermal engines not only reflects the commitment to reducing environmental impact, but also highlights the brand’s innovative approach to automotive design. Renegade prices start at 35,600 euros and Compass prices start at 41,350 euros. Orders to start on October 10, 2024.
