Official handover of Suzuki fleet to Tirreno-Adriatico

ROME (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of the inaugural stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico race, at the picturesque setting of Lido di Camaiore (Lu), the official handover of the fleet of Suzuki motorcycles destined for assistance in the races of the ‘Corse Rosà circuit organized by RCS Sports & Events was held. With a history that links Lido di Camaiore to great cycling, having hosted the arrivals of the Giro d’Italia in 1997, 2002 and 2007, as well as being the usual inaugural stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico, the location was the ideal place for the official handover of the keys to the fleet, consisting of 46 Suzuki motorcycles.

“Motorcycles play a fundamental role within a bicycle race, as they contribute to a more effective and safer management of the event,” said Matteo Mursia Chief, Revenue Officer Rcs Sports & Events. “First, the bikes perform a logistical support function, transporting sports directors, race marshals and medical personnel, as well as facilitating communication between members of the organization. In addition, they are essential for ensuring the safety of the riders, allowing marshals to constantly monitor the group and intervene quickly in case of accidents or unforeseen incidents.”

Thus Paolo Ilariuzzi, Suzuki Motorcycle and Marine Division Director: “The Giro d’Italia has chosen to ride Suzuki motorcycles, and this makes us proud. The fleet of 46 motorcycles will accompany the cyclists along the thousands of kilometers that will be covered, from the Strade Bianche to the Alpine peaks to the city races. The motorcycles will be tireless companions of the race marshals who, thanks to the handling and reliability of the motorcycles, will be able to best follow the cyclists during the races.”
