A free dance class for middle school children taught by an amazing teacher. International ballet artist Roberto Bolle serves as the “teacher” for the “A scuola danzando” (Dancing at School) project, which views dance as a vital educational instrument capable of instilling more physical and emotional confidence. After a long journey, the project culminated in its most emotional moment: the final performance at Milan’s TAM Teatro Arcimboldi. Eleven participating schools performed in front of their families, instructors, school administrators, and Roberto Bolle, showing their artistic and personal journeys during the year. Bolle himself appeared in the show, outlining the relevance of the project and reiterating the need of introducing dance to young people as a vehicle for inclusion, expression, and personal development. Then came the students’ choreographies, inspired by the belief that, in Bolle’s words, “Dance carries the unique values of education, kindness, commitment and discipline”.
