“Skippa the rest”, the Lazio Region presents the new awareness campaign for young people on road safety

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Sensitizing young people and reducing the dramatic budget of accidents on the roads of the territory. This is the objective at the center of the press conference to present the new regional campaign dedicated to road safety, to which today, at the Cultural Hub Moby Dick in Garbatella, the president of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca; the president of DiSCo Lazio, Simone Foglio; Enza Tripaldi for the Association Families degli Angeli onlus and Sergio Toscano for the Italian family association and victims of the road. The initiative aims to promote the culture of responsible driving, focusing on the direct involvement of new generations. A youth representation took part in the event. Young people are the main recipients of the prevention message. The official statistics of the main health and research organizations confirm that road accidents represent the first absolute cause of death for the youth group, both globally and in Italy. Kids today live immersed in a continuous flow of content, images, messages and stimuli. Every day they choose what to watch, what to listen and remember. With a simple gesture they can “skippa” everything that does not interest them.

But there are things you can’t skip. Road safety is one of these. It is born from here “In the street, skippa the rest”, a campaign that chooses to speak to young people with their language, entering their cultural codes without judging them and without giving lessons. The hashtag #InStradaSkippaIlResto deliberately recalls the world of streaming and digital platforms. “Skipping” means passing over, quickly jumping content to get to what really matters. It is a daily gesture for the new generations, accustomed to constantly choosing what to look, listen or follow. The campaign borrows this language and turns it into a security message: in the street you can skippa everything that distracts, but not the rules that protect life. The invitation is simple: when you are on the street, everything else can wait. Notifications, rush, superficiality, distractions and risky behavior can be skipped. Security is not. The campaign uses music, one of the most transversal and engaging passions for young people, to transform a message of prevention into something familiar, immediate and memorable. The goal is not to scare, but to raise awareness. Do not leverage the fear of consequences, but the awareness of their choices.
