Spain, Sanchez announces early elections for 29 November

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Today there is dissatisfaction, we also made mistakes. There are many things to correct. In order to do more we need people, but we must have a wider majority in Parliament. For this reason, after having informed the head of the State, I decided to convene an extraordinary Council of Ministers to instruct the general elections that will take place on 29 November. The time has come when the Spanish decide what future they want for the country.” This was announced by Spanish Premier Pedro Sanchez during an institutional statement issued this morning by the Moncloa Palace.

“In these three years Spain has become the country that has grown more in the eurozone, and the purchasing power has increased compared to the French and German economy – Sanchez continued by drawing a balance sheet of government activity over the last three years –. Ultimately, with commitment and dialogue we have managed to implement many actions to help different sectors of citizens, including health. We have also begun a profound modernization of our industry through European funds. Despite all these difficulties and hostility, the progressive coalition government has never stopped working. We have faced one of the main problems of the country: energy transformation and ecological transition. We have approved courageous measures for access to the house and tried to work in this direction. In short, we have done everything possible to defend the interests of the Spanish and, at the same time, within our possibilities, we have striven to build a better world for our citizens. We have supported Ukraine and international cooperation. All this has made Spain a world reference point of peace and prosperity,” he added.
