Suzuki Italy celebrates 50 years at the Genoa Boat Show

GENOVA (ITALPRESS) – Suzuki celebrates its 50 years of history in Italy at the 66th International Boat Show in Genoa with an offer that focuses on engine efficiency, low consumption and reduced mass, waiting for a new engine that will exceed 350 horses. “With regard to the goals achieved – explains the president and managing director of Suzuki Italia Massimo Nalli – we are particularly proud to say that the Italian market and Suzuki have a history of love now consolidated, in the car sector, where for Suzuki Italy is the first market, but also in the field of motorcycles and outboard engines”.
On display at the Levant Waterfront there is the complete range of Suzuki outboards, from portable drives starting from 2.5 cv, to higher power models, with the DF350AMD top range. And then seven Suzukino dings, Suzuki technologies and Raymarine tools integrated, as well as seven boats available for dock testing.
“The outboard engine market is a healthy market – comments Nalli -. The number of engines sold has a slight positive sign, and however Italy remains the first European market by number of outboard engines, about 20 thousand each year. Suzuki to the Genoese kermesse has brought all the sports range in matt black colors, which have characteristics of particular performance, in particular to the low regimes. This allows us to have an entry into the planata easier for the more technical and more passionate of nautical. We anticipated the arrival of a great engine, even more powerful than the maximum we have today in the range, which is a 350 horses, and hope to see it one day. From Suzuki the public always expects a reliable engine and is what we will give, also because in the sea reliability is a concrete value. And then very important the service network, which is a tangible value.”
The story of Suzuki in Italy began in 1970, when SAIAD (acronym of Suzuki Articles Import And Distribution) started the distribution of Suzuki motorcycles on the Italian market. It is the beginning of a relationship destined to turn, a few years later, into the birth of Suzuki Italy. After fifty years the central theme becomes the energy transition, according to an approach that combines different technologies according to the markets and the real needs of customers.
“As for cars, we will not only see the electric – explains Nalli – we think that the solution of the future will also include the hybrid, perhaps fed with biofuels that are now underrated. And then, perhaps even longer term, hydrogen, which could represent the true sustainable solution. On the other hand, the bikes are made of passion, so I don’t see a decisive turn towards the electric or hybrid. Absolute performance or practical use, depending on the case, will remain the priority.”.
