Meloni receives Slovenian prime minister Jansa, shared goal of strategic partnership

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, today received at Palazzo Chigi the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Jansa. “The two Leaders shared the goal of strategically raising bilateral partnership through the next adoption of an Action Plan focusing on priority areas such as defence, energy, connectivity, research and innovation and culture – we read in a note of Palazzo Chigi. The conversation allowed a comparison of the priorities of the next European Council, starting from the strengthening of the competitiveness of the Union and the structural reduction of energy costs for families and enterprises. In this context, President Meloni recalled the recent initiatives promoted by Italy, together with other Member States, for a more pragmatic European approach on energy transition and industrial policy. It has also been noted that the next multiannual financial framework provides adequate resources for both the new priorities of the Union and traditional policies, such as cohesion and agriculture.” The two leaders discussed the management of migration flows “with a particular focus on strengthening the external dimension, repatriations and innovative solutions”.
